Yesterday the US Patent & Trademark Office approved and published Google's latest registered trademark for "Dart" which they applied for back in December 2011. Dart is an open source Web programming language developed by Google which was unveiled at the GOTO conference in 2011. Google's Ultimate goal for Dart is to replace JavaScript as the lingua franca of web development on the open web platform. Dart is intended to solve JavaScript's problems.

Google originally filed their trademark under International Classes 9 and 38 which specifically covers the following:
International Class 009: computer programs and downloadable computer programs that implement an object-oriented computer programming language.
International Class 038: electronic transmission of data over a global communication network.
