Earlier this month the US Patent & Trademark Office published a patent application from Samsung that revealed a new inventive concept that could one day provide an all-new kind of flexible hinge assembly for notebooks and/or a hybrid notebook design that smoothly connects the keyboard segment with a display and/or a tablet segment. Samsung is obviously on a creative roll here in respect to flexible structures. Yesterday we posted a report regarding a new flexible smartphone structure that included a flexible display.

Samsung filed their patent application back in Q1 2014. Considering that this is a patent application, the timing of such a product to market is unknown at this time.
